Privacy Policy
Last updated 28 August 2026
The short version. Cozy Alchemy has no accounts, no ads, and no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. Your game is saved on your device. The app sends a small amount of anonymous usage data to a server we run ourselves, tied to a random install id rather than to you, and you can turn that off in Settings. Purchases are handled by Apple and our purchase processor, RevenueCat. Cloud save and the Hall of Alchemists are optional and off until you switch them on.
Who we are
Cozy Alchemy is made and published by Pavegrowth (Josh Pavey), an independent studio in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Cozy Alchemy app for iPhone and this website, playcozyalchemy.com. Contact: [email protected].
Data stored on your device
Your garden, potions, coins, progress and settings are stored in a local database on your phone. They are not sent to us unless you turn on cloud save (below). Deleting the app deletes this data. The app does not ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos, location or any other personal information, and it never reads your device's advertising identifier.
Anonymous usage data (you can switch it off)
To understand whether the game is working and fairly tuned, the app records gameplay events (for example that a session started, a bed was harvested, a purchase completed, or a screen took unusually long) and sends them in batches to a server we operate on Cloudflare. Each batch carries:
- a random install id generated on your device when the game is first opened. It is not derived from your device, is not shared with anyone, and cannot be used to identify you;
- the app, content and save versions, and which tuning variant of the game you are in;
- the event name, a timestamp, and gameplay properties (amounts of in-game currency, feature names, durations).
We do not collect or send your IP address as part of these events beyond what any web request inherently exposes to the server, and we do not store it with your events. There is no third-party analytics, advertising or crash SDK in the app. You can turn this off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage data; when it is off, nothing queued is sent and anything waiting is discarded.
Cloud save (optional)
Cloud save is off by default. If you switch it on, a copy of your save is stored on our server so you can restore it on a new phone. It is keyed by a random device token; no account or email is required. You can switch it off at any time, which stops further uploads. Write to us to have stored saves deleted.
Hall of Alchemists (optional)
The Hall is an opt-in showcase of players' shops. Nothing is shown until you choose to opt in, and you can withdraw at any time in the game, after which your entry is removed.
In-app purchases
Purchases are made through the Apple App Store and processed by RevenueCat, which validates receipts and keeps a record of what was bought so it can be restored. RevenueCat receives a random app user id and the transaction details Apple provides; it does not receive your name or email from us. Apple's own handling of your payment is covered by Apple's privacy policy.
Notifications
Reminders (for example that a bed is ready) are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push-notification service and do not hold notification tokens.
Selling or sharing your data
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. The only third parties involved are Apple (the App Store), RevenueCat (purchase processing) and Cloudflare (hosting for our own server), each processing data on our behalf.
This website
playcozyalchemy.com is a static site hosted on Vercel. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Our host may keep standard, short-lived server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) to operate the service.
Children's privacy
Cozy Alchemy is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Because we hold no personal information about you, there is usually nothing for us to provide, correct or delete. If you have turned on cloud save, you can ask us to delete stored saves. You can withdraw analytics consent in Settings at any time. If you are in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top, and material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
